Blogisphere: I am so sorry I have been neglecting you! I haven't had internet and have been feeling very cut off from the world. But as well as that with everything going on and the million of things getting me down I just didn't want to write anything about my life. Saying this, I learnt a long time ago that writing about your problems can help you figure out how to fix them, sadly I rarely take my own advice.
A multitude of things have happened in the past month, it's all been hectic but rather boring at the same time (yes I contradict myself quite a lot). I moved out of Cherrybank and in with Kenny last month and it's been lovely. The new flat is very pretty too :)
It's been a month of spider diagrams, planning, job applications, angry phone calls to the post office, and quite a few freak outs and break downs. The constant question of 'what are you doing with your life?' from myself and, quite annoyingly, other people. Even in a job interview the woman asked me 'why are you working in a bar if you're an english graduate?' It took a lot of self control not to snap at her. I didn't get the job anyway, but still- I like working where I do, it's good fun :) I am also now a two job girl. I landed a 3 month opportunity at an oil company called Nexen in the HR department. I started last week and have basically been thrown in at the deep end, but I like to think I'm swimming, even 5 days in. Who knows what will happen in 3 months time, but it's exciting being in a new job and I've even made a couple of friends already!
So that's the life update. Even though I've got this job and I am finally standing on my own two feet I can't help but wonder what the hell I am doing with my life. Neither of my jobs have anything to do with what I want to do for the rest of my life. The main reason I stayed in Aberdeen has pretty much become defunct now. I can't decide if I've moved on or just grown up on that page. This job opens a lot more doors and gives me the cash to do what I really want to do. But now that I've got past the hurdle of finding such a job, I can't help but wonder... What do I want to do with my life?
Graduation and the beginnings that come with it is exciting and amazing and daunting and confusing. How odd is it that one little event, that lasted an hour and a half, can have so many implications and inflict so much confusion for so long?
I think I keep thinking too much about all this. One thing is for certain, I am 22 and I only live once, so I should stop thinking and start living, and planning.
