Practice makes perfect. It also makes you overweight.

I SERIOUSLY WANT TO OPEN MY OWN BAKERY!
I had a pretty sad weekend so needed to cheer myself up, and this worked a treat.

Oatmeal and raisin cookies, and vanilla cupcakes with chocolate icing and sprinkles :) I really need to work on the presentation still before I can start selling but I've looked into getting my food hygiene certificate and think I am going to spend the next few months practicing then try it all out with a stall at the Belmont Street farmers market one Saturday.
However I need people to eat them, as I am on a strict pre Rockness diet then a pre graduation diet so feel free to come round for a cup of tea/coffee/hot chocolate and a sample or four :)

New beginnings...

I had a blog once. I set it up as an angsty teenager and just moaned, it's a cringe reading it now. I will NEVER link it. So here is my new blog, for all my friends and family who live far far away, and for all you lovely people, who perhaps just want to read some ramblings by a girl who has absolutely no idea what to do with her life, but is OK about it.

So for those of you who don't know, I am Katharine. I am 22 years old and have just completed 17 solid years of studying, ending it all with an MA Hons degree in English Literature and absolutely NO idea where to go next.

I've thought of many things in the past year; TEFL, counselling post-grads, cupcake bakeries, writing my book, moving to England, getting a kitten and naming it Hercules, why no one raises money for giraffes, why life doesn't have a money cheat like the Sims.
I want to do all of these things (apart from maybe raising money for giraffes - they're doing ok apparently) but the sad truth of the thing that is the real world is that you need money to do anything, and to survive. So everything has been put on hold until I find a normal job and a new flat (preferably one which allows kittens). I have decided to stay in Aberdeen for a while longer for a few reasons, live with my friend K-Dawg (sadly not his real name), and figure out what I want. This is what I discover, how I discover it, and hopefully some achievements along the way.

As my friend Jennifer so rightly said on Saturday night, we're real people now; and that's probably the scariest and most exciting new beginning I could have.

Stay tuned lovelies!
