Alumni

Results came out this weekend just past. Oh my giddy aunt it was the most stressful weekend of my life! They were released on Saturday morning and then the WHOLE University system crashed, no one could get on, and I didn't find out my results until late Sunday night. I think it was the best father's day present I could have given my dad though. I wasn't very happy when I saw my grade but he was over the moon, and after some reflection on how topsy turvy the past four years have been I have decided I should be bloody proud of passing, never mind getting a second class degree. I was ONE sodding mark off a 2:1 though so I am looking into getting things remarked, but either way I am happy. I went through a lot, especially in my first year of honours, and definitely didn't give it my all in third year. If I'd carried on that way I would have gotten a third or might not even have passed.

At the end of the day I have had the best four years of my life. It has matured me in a way I never expected it to, broadened my horizons, built up my confidence, and made me the person I am today; a person I would not have become had I not decided to go to university. I've made better friends I could ever have hoped for, and I know I will have them forever. Anyone reading this who is still on the fence about going to university- just do it! Have the time of your life, immerse yourself into the way of life, involve yourself in everything, and dedicate your life to it for four years. The hard work, the tears, and the hangovers are all worth it at the end of the day; because with it comes solid friendships that last forever, a kind of independence that is truly unique, and a real feeling of a job well done at the end of it all.

Class of 2011, no matter what your grades were, whether you were pleased or slightly disappointed, give yourself a big pat on the back- because WE DID IT!!!!

Here's to us brilliant graduates, and I will see you all at graduation :)

Peace out.
